Windy Day / Riding High - Help

Post by Troubleman »

This has to be one of the rarest rockers in existence!

Windy Day / Riding High - Ruddy Thomas / Trinity.

This song is brilliant and is apparently only to be found on the CD version of Spotlight on Reggae Volume 7. It does not appear on the LP!

This song must have been released elsewhere. Does anybody have any information about it? The Spotlight on Reggae Volume 7 CD is virtually impossible to find.

Peace.

Thanks Bridgie & Nick,

I haven't been able to find the 12 inch listed anywhere except maybe on the Spotlight on Reggae 7 CD, but they often did not include whole songs on those Spotlight compilations.

Peace.

Off course it features the immortal 'Riding on a high and windy day' from the Paragons of Treasure Isle origin.

The 12" was credited to Paragons & Ruddy Thomas 'Windy Day', featuring Trinity's 'Riding High' on Errol T label with Joe Gibbs matrix JGMD 8052, released 1979.
rougher yet

i have this 12" i think when it says paragons ruddy thomas, i think the pargons referance is for writing credits and ruddy thomas for performing.

Nick, you're a star! I'll be checking out that Joe Gibbs Showcase series. Thirty years seems a long time to wait for these tracks! :-)

Yes, Paragons are credited for writing and Ruddy Thomas for performing.

Cool video algoriddim!

Thanks to everyone for their replies!

Yep 30 years is a long time, still a few people have done a few cdr,s over the last ten years, to keep some of us happy, i put abput 4cd's worth of joe gibbs 12" on cdr, but its a long process.
maybe one day the record companies might realise that it would be nice to have the dubbs too.they could go on a bonus cd that would be a selling point
just hope the mastering is up to scratch.....
still been a good year for joe gibbs releases with greensleeves evolution of Dub rereleasing dub serial and just this week african dub 5.
for all the moaning us reggae fans do. i think we are well served by some good releases.and often the cd,s come at a good price.when you think the evolution of dub series works out about £2.50 a cd plus all the artwork.
