The song which I think you are referring to is by Horace Andy -- "Big and Heavy". It's all over the place... on an lp entitled "Fresh" ('Carron' label mid'80s) + it's on numerous 12" singles... (forget the labels).

You have saved me nuff anguish! I've been lookin for that tune since I lost my cassette tape back in the 80's.....

Perhaps you can help me with this one! Back in the 70's a tune goes like this
" my father born ya, my grandfather born ya" and so on !!! I use to know it but age has gotten to me I guess..
