Was listening to my copy of the Jamaican Memories CD put out by Trojan/Sanctuary this morn and am wanting to know more about this producer it appears a lot of wht he has done was on the Blue-Cat label that this CD covers. Anyone know if he has done more work or whatever happened to the guy?

" ....his two Sugar labels - the first version distributed by Pye Records , then by Decca in 1969.... "
" ..Mostly commercial , but with a few solid JA rhythms here and there... "

owner of a Jamaican label called Flame ( no link with the three later Flames labels)
did some nice stuff in the late 60s. Some got an UK release courtesy of Blue Cat, hence the 'Jamaican Memories' album link.
and yes quite a few deep soul ballads, if one is to call the musical style 'commercial'
