Tune ID - Channel One 12" produced by William Johnson

Post by Matthew »

Picked up this blank label 12" and would love to know who it is.

Channel One 12" (1122 FW/NY)
A: Live Up
B: Who Cares

Wax is mislabeled with A label on B side and B label on A side.

Lyrics start off on 'Live Up' track as such :

Children of Israel
I want you hear what I say
You got to live up live up live up
You cannot do no evil works
You got to set a foundation , for the younger generation
Make they understand, they gonna take your position

'Who Cares' track has plenty harmonica and is a lovers tune.

Wow, it's been almost a year since I pulled this tune out...
Just listened to it again tonight and it reminded me I have yet to identify the artist. :(

Label (red) is actually printed : Channel One Showcase

All other info is correct and above in my 1st post...
Any ideas/help?

Thanks!

I doubt it's Channel One/hitbound.. cause those matrix numbers usually have 'JJ' in them

And it could also be officially unreleased.. Got a UK made 12 inch test pressing myself with Earl Sixteen/Channel One material on it....

Delroy Wilson did the original classic Who Cares - first at Studio One then later for Bunny Lee.
