Re: SCIENTIST Duped by Greensleeves
So Scientist had a small part to play in the overall making of the records. & there is nothing special about high-pass filters. Scientist has made public his problem with Greensleeves & Prince Jammy. So we can make up our own minds.

With all due respect, you are making more noise than sense with this thread. Some things are best left alone unless you know the actual details (from all parties).

Re: SCIENTIST Duped by Greensleeves
As usual on this site, everyone responding to this thread has missed the point. If you all had bothered to read the original post it was relating to the fact that out of the whole mess between Greenesleeves and Scientist it emerged that the album Big Showdown Scientist Vs Prince Jammy didn't have any tracks mixed by Jammys at all, which i (maybe ignorantly) didn't notice before i read the article related and listened to the conversation between Scientist and Jammys.
I was expecting responses such as:
"It's obvious the whole album is mixed by Scientist ,are you deaf ?"
or
"If you need an example of the two engineers on the same album listen to Dub Landing 2 Silly Billy"
Silly me, i forgot! you have to get past the masterminds of reggae on this site before you have permission to make an opinion.
Thanks for the responses anyway, hope this explaination makes more SENSE than NOISE.
Peace

Re: SCIENTIST Duped by Greensleeves
If I recall, the review of the Big Showdown LP in *Reggae: The Rough Guide* comments on the two distinctive styles! So no less an authority than Steve Barrow did not notice that all the tracks were (allegedly) mixed by Scientist only. Funny that!

Greets Don!
many years ago I realized that Reggae albums credits aren't correct in most cases (producers and labels don't always credit everybody for different reasons).
This whole Scientist/Junjo/Greensleeves/Jammys situation is another example.
And of course is not a matter to be discussed on public forums by people who don't have a clue and wasn't even there at the time. Let the lawyers and courts do their jobs and let's hope that justice is done ( is that is possible).
Personally, I was slightly dissapointed by this album. I loved the cover and the concept of a Big Dub Showdown but I prefer other Scientist albums on Greensleeves.

Bless up Inyake
I agree it's not the greatest Scientist album and the whole litigation issue,i'm personally not interested.
I was a twelve year old kid when i bought this album and i use to obsess over the artwork and credits.I use to imagine i was at channel one and play my bass with the tracks (this was how i learned to play). Then i would imagine i was in tubbys with Scientist and Jammys arguing over who's going to mix which tracks.
This is what made me post this thread, nothing to do with the legal bizniz going on between the parties.
This to me is like the moment when you find out Santa Claus is a fraud.

Back when I was living in Zim, a local DJ used to say "Jammy's was knocked out in Round 7" ...which I agree with

Jahson
Having heard the scientist v jammy set 100s of times i still think the 2 styles are very different as clearly they are.

Re: SCIENTIST Duped by Greensleeves
wasn't Jah Thomas introducing tracks on this album?
maybe he would know the "true answer" to this?
