Justin Hines "Jezebel"

Post by Vlad »

Now, checking the forum left and right, and, while this LP is mentioned in threads, none is dedicated to this masterpiece.

I know the "all time best reggae album" is a debate similar to "what is Art", and will never end, but I must say this album must be up there, in the top ten best stuff ever recorded in the genre.

Same production as Burning Spear's best stuff of the era, every track is a classic, in all respects. Just wanted to have this written somewhere. Much respect to the artists who created this work.

Got the CD with the Just in Time two for one on Island Japan not cheap but very much worth it for someone who i think has one of the best voices in Reggae.

I also picked it up in Japan. What a great album! It's a shame that Justin in Time sounds like it's taken from vinyl rather than the original tapes as it's almost as good as Jezebel. I really can't believe that it wouldn't be worth Island's while to re-release this outside of Japan. I'm sure it would sell as much if not more than say Bunny Wailer Sings the Wailers, for example, which you can find anywhere.
