It's difficult to decide, but these are three of my roots favourites now:

Max Romeo - War ina babylon
Jacob Miller with the Inner Band and Augustus Pablo
Hugh Mundell - Africa Must Be Free

2 Burning Spear "Marcus Garvey/Garvey's Ghost"

1 Lee Perry "Roast Fish Collie Weed and Cornbread"


What a crazy idea, rating all these great records and picking only three to boot, but look at me doing it too...

prince lincoln 21 st century - i think is the best roots album in the 90s
