i like what you said about that...even the mistakes are probably good tunes like "love and unity" by shorty on advance or "stone in love..3pan1 mentioned he even met jimmy London and he said that was not ark..regardless of a perry connection you're probably still getting a tune worth spinning..

3pan1 I agree 99% of the time it is obvious if it is black ark and 79% it is obvious if it is a perry production. But it is fun to talk about the 1% of the records that you doubt.

There still are tunes that are hard to define. e.g. there are a few tunes on Tafari/Earth brought in by Munchie that I still think are black ark. But arnt recognized yet or ignored. Also some early Carlton Barrett and Family Man produced tunes I cannot totally define as non Ark. But I said enough all good luck with the topic.

And yes Toney is Michael Rose.

Micheal Rose's DJ stagename was Tony, not Toney. He also did 'No. 1 Version', a deejay cut of Carl Dawkin's 'Get together', for Sir JJ.

Yes. They call him Toney for the first Black Uhuru LP, credited to Black Sounds Uhro.

Thnaks for posting. Interesting to hear that in a few years his style has really elvolved from on extreme to another. This may also have to do with the backing track..

Lets move on shall we?

In my opinion most of the "Flesh Of My Skin" album songs have Black Ark keyboards. The stuff on the album sounds very similar for instance as "Curly Locks (take 2)".
