Delroy Washington

Post by Rootsman »

Hi,

Can anyone give me some feedback on the 2 albums he cut in the late 70`s.

I Sus - 1976
Rasta - 1977

I have seen they are both available on CD and was wondering if they were worth picking up.

Many Thanks

Respect

yes - both are excellent albums. good british, 70's reggae.

I Sus was backed by a young Aswad. check out the tune "Jah Wonderful" - pure wickedness.

Rasta is far from roots in my opinion, definately not to my tastes, it's good black 70's music, but I'm not really into UK reggae (I tried selling mine on e-bay twice but nobody bought it)

There's a British Documentary called Aquarius from 1976 where Delroy Washington is performing Jah Wonderfull on the Nottinghill Carnival.

Superb song
