Arabian Dub / Ali Baba "version".

Post by Musitronics »

Has this track made it's way on to any vinyl reacently?

I've only heard a couple of "versions" on the Pleasure Dub re-press, one I think is a tubby mix, dont know who the other mix is by but neither are the original Duke Reid "Version" (Arabian Dub). It seems to have been overlooked by just about everyone except the MP3 download sites. If I-tunes and Amazon etc are punting it, surely it ust be worth someones while to put it out on vinyl again?

Was it only ever available on vynil on the original "Treasure Dub" / "Treasure Isle Dub" LP's? does anyone know of any othere pressings? 7" maybe? Was it featured on any of John holts LP's?

That's "Treasure Dub Vol 1 isn't it? where did you find that?

Is that the only time it's ever seen a vinyl release? I wonder why is it so difficult to get hold of, it's such a classic tune.

I wouldn't know if it was reissued, as I tend to stay away from that stuff. 'Nuff originals to satisfy.

It's just titled "Scrubit (featuring Lizzy)" on the pleasure Dub RP, but it sounds like tubbys spring reverb, I dont know who lizzy is. . .

Still prefer the original though I know there is a good Tubby mix.

Its actually Duke Reid's nephew, Errol Brown - who mixed the dub albums. Definitely not King Tubby mix.

h yes, I dont know if this track is off of the original dub albums, this mix just (sounds) a lot like tubby, with the echo chamber etc

but!. . . this is a track from the new pressure sounds Pleasure Dub LP, I dont know if this mix was on any of the original dub lp's, it says it's by(Tommy MCcook and the supersonics)...... I dont know those guys.
