Re: Clocktower dub LPs
I have the Sound of Macka Dub and didn't think much of it a few years ago. Maybe I need to exhume it and give it another listen.

Hi Geoffrey,
IMO Macka Dub is an outstanding Dub LP. It may take some time, as it is a bit more "ambient" than other Dub LPs from the same Period - but I am sure you will love it. Furthermore the Macka Dub could be an original pressing from 1975/76 - at least it has got the orig. cover artwork. First Pressings go for approx. 100 USD - so be quick to give this killer a new home!
Greetigs!

it was released by Abraham Canada a couple of times during the 90s and 2000s... all with the original 1970s looking sleeve.GW wrote:Hi Geoffrey,

Yep, I realized that there are represses which used the original cover artwork, though I also know a different print with a violet/blue "flames" design. Geoffrey - if your one has the red labels as showns in the roots archive then it is the real stuff from mid-seventies. Nonetheless - if your copy is a late repress - music is still great - though the Abraham pressings suffer from poor mastering, which means sound is not that bright as on the original wax!
