First one has the lyrics: "I'm telling you right now, won't even have time to plow(?), soon there'll be nothing natural, everything will be artificial, in the future I say, in the future I say, in the future I say..." This song is possibly on the "Darker Shade Of Black" riddim.
Second one has the lyrics: "Jah is my life and my salvation, whom shall I be afraid of? Who gives me the foundation that we live on, and that we will not be refused. Jah is the strength of my mind and future I pray, because jah jah shines the light for I and I." This song is possibly on the Diseases/Mad Mad riddim.
Third one is something like: "What would we do, without the DJ, I wanna know now, what would we do, when people get battling, do the rock steady, cause it's rubadub time again."
Fourth one could be the same song?? and goes something like: "The dance it can't gwan without the DJ. The dance it can't gwan without the operator. The dance it can't gwan without the sound system. Crowd of people change your behavior. Mix it up and lovin ah the dance get cool, oh. Later you come inside and play your music..."
Fifth one is something like: "Put up your hand if you got a **ssy(??), because your down with the style, cause your down with me. I will rig(?) the selecter when your on the mixer, along with Peter Metro pon the echo chamber." I have a feeling this could be some live Yellowman, possibly one of his live albums with Peter Metro. Specifically:
--Yellowman, Fathead, Peter Metro, Billy Boyo, Toyan, Sinbad, Little Harry (Live And Direct Aces Volume 2) (Intense Label INLP 5 1982)
or
--Peter Metro Live With Yellowman And Sassafras (White Label 1984)
I have not be able to find either of those albums as they appear to be long out of print and nowhere to be found online.
Any help at all on any of these songs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Trying to find some dancehall songs...
That first one is the title track from the Pablo Moses LP "In the Future". Wicked bass line! Its not Darker Shade of Black, but something truly original (I think). I also love the use of vocorder on this track and I'm usually not a fan of such gimmicks.

on the third":
What would we do, without the DJ, I wanna know now, what would we do,
this is Tribute to the DJ - Reggae Regulars,
but the second part is not in that song: this sounds more like a early 80s version of Ba Ba Boom (people get ready , come do rock steady, it's bababoom time again)
when people get battling, do the rock steady, cause it's rubadub time again."

Brilliant stuff guys, you are dead on with those Pablo Moses and Reggae Regular tracks.
jumbo: Any further information on the Ba Ba Boom track? I have checked several songs and have not found those lyrics.
Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

hey man,
the first line of #5 might have been influenced by "Boops" by Super Cat with the "put up your hand if you" part.
Have you listened to Sublime's "Rewind Selector" bootleg??

Yes Lucas, they are all from Sublime songs. I am trying to find the original dancehall tracks that Brad covered.
