Milton Bull & Rare Spice - what a day when the Wheel turn

The rhythm has some characteristics of the black ark. It sounds rhythm wise the same like the songs on LP revelation time e.g. Blood Of The Prophet by Max Romeo. The timeline matches. The version is clearly overdubbed elsewere. Well may be interesting for some to take a closer look at.

One to stir up a hornet`s nest ! Listening to " The Good Old Days Of The 70`s " - Dennis Alcapone and Jah Lloyd - yesterday on Teem CD . Looked at the credits at the bottom of the page and it states that tracks " Segregation Is Wrong " , " Honour Me " , " The Earth Is The Fullness " and " Go To School " are Black Ark recorded .

Aha Nice one chungdejah. Thanks for clearing that one up and identifying the admirers/cloners/mimickers in that corner.

I guess the only US/black ark conncetion that there is is the one esthablished through the labels Tafari/Earth via the brothers Jacksons and eventually ended up at Bullwackie. And of course Bullwackies his own jamaican connections.

exactly what i thought. the pulsating nature of the mix on the dub especially sounds very different to the jamaica serenade! and very ark-like. And David Katz mentions "natty plant it" in never grow old as an ark tune...mixed at but not recorded at maybe? hasn't got much of s mix but the riddim is definitely altered in a scratch fashion! I'm not biased as i couldn't give a crap if its ark or not, ha ha! bad tune..

i have that good old days of the 70's..kinda bogus to me..at least those dennis alcapone tracks don't sound ark..

Maybe these are not secret, but a bit hidden I would say : two tunes available until recently only on scarce Black Art 12" are now on the "Melody Life : Trojan Sisters" 2CD compilation :
"Breakfast In Bed" and "Disco Fits" by Candy McKenzie.
They're probably not presented in their full lenght discomixes, but in good quality.
