hello there dread heads
i'm new to roots forum,
feel free to ignore this if you must but it's an earnest qn. i'm looking for the version of the song ''old marcus garvey'' by the great Burning Spear w/out the embellishment of the orchestrated trumpets or horns or whatever it is what features on this recording of it. i know there is a stripped down version of this tune, can anyone direct me to it?
thanks.

there's a horn cut on Jo Jo Bennet's BUnjo label titled "Toronto Rock", but I take it that's not what you seek

Dunno specifics about the horns, but Chris Blackwell is known to have remixed and speeded up the original LP (on Fox label?) for its worldwide release on Island. So it could be the earlier JA version you heard?
But be warned - other threads here and/or elsewhere say the recent vinyl re-release of the original recording is a very poor pressing.
