Hi all,
I have been collecting and playing reggae since 1978 and most of my friends love it when I dig out and old tape or CD and fire up the party. I love the old stuff such as Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson and Gregory mixed with Roots reggae such as Misty in Roots, Burning Spear and Steel Pulse.
Artists such as Richie Spice, Macka B and Anthony B get the floor swaying but my question is what songs would you play to encourage new people to listen and become interested in reggae.
Also there are some fantastic women in reggae who barely get a mention: Judy Mowatt, Pam Hall, Audrey Hall
Sandra Cross: any woman artists you would recommend

Re: New topic: New discussion
depends on the person.
if they like rock, i introduce them to the same bands hard roots that got me into reggae: Burning Spear, The Gladiators, The Congos, Culture, etc
if they are more into pop, i might play Pat Kelly, Jimmy London or early Dandy Livingstone
