>All remixing is, is versioning. So they are versioning, >remixing and producing 'new' product from original >studio recordings/rhythms, the only aspect for debate >surely is saying that they are Tubby's mixes or anyone >else's for that matter but the person/s actually mixing >these down for the umpteenth time.
The other aspect for debate, or opinion, is how they sound, which is really all that matters when you are talking about music. Everyone agrees that misrepresenting isn't a good thing to do, but it all distills to the sound that fills your ears.

True, but why not finance new music played by players in J.A. not in tapes of long gone nostalgia... what Reggae needs is new energy not echoes of old energy...
wow man... that was a bit 'Hippy'!

i agree it was misrepresented as being "lost King Tubby treasures". but the tunes are great, and the mixes are actually quite good - i think they were done well...
thanks for your discussion, all - reggae is a living, breathing thing and reasoning helps us all to learn and live! even if it DOES "get a bit hippy"! haha!
thanks
