Gladstone Anderson - Sings Songs For Today And Tomorow(A) He Is A Good Piano player And A Verry Good Singer

I totaly agree a wicked wicked set and a rare one. I was told most of the riddim are the same as the one used for the Stranger Cole "'Foward' In The Land Of Sunshine" LP.
BTW, there are two different pressing, one without cover and one with the cover. I was lucky enought to find both, the one without cover first and the other one later. Got one copy up for trade, if anyone is interested.

The I Roy set is also a good one but i'm not a big fan of the Clint eastwood LP

Well I think you Mistaken with The Stranger Cole Album That albums was call "The Patriot" On that Album Stanger Sing On A Few Riddims Of Gladdy Anderson.

"....Land Of Sunshine" was a Toronto production, recorded at Half Moon studios (Oswald Creary). "The Patriot" came out a few years later, and had some tracks laid in JA, some in a "foreign" (NY and Toronto).

Although Roots Archive lists it as 1982, it was definitely out in 1981. Stranger came out of performance retirement to do a show with Toots & Owen Grey, and he has been going strong ever since.

Wild days when he owned a record store in Kengsington Market late 70's - early 80s. Across the street was another shop owned by another vetran legend, Ronny "Bop" Williams, both with huge speakers outside the shop. The area in between was commonly referred to as "the wobble zone".

Another great part of town with lots of character that has been "yuppified" beyond belief. But there was a time....

Not a 70' LP, but from 1988 always liked Niyabinghi Theocracy, Selassie I Vibration, Jah Levi & The Higher Reasoning. Powerfull music and yet to be discovered by some. Not JA.

One that I don't think is logged in RA - Greatest Jamaican Beat (Treasure Isle rocksteady various artists lp). Mostly available on other compilations I think but a nice mellow mix of vocal and instrumental tracks from the source.

Kensington gone yuppie? That hurts - just isn't compatible with memories from the '80s. It was another little world within the city and the Reggae enhanced the anarchist punk vibe nicely.
