Sounds like a theme from a BBC-TV crime novel from back in the 1960s.

BBC 60's n 70s TV weren't available overhere at that time.

It was originally a film or tv theme song, which I'm not sure the name of, but was re-recorded by The Shadows in 1960 and their version became a #1 hit in the UK.

Apparently , it was the theme music of the Edgar Wallace Mystery Movies which were made between 1960-1963 , these were released by the Anglo Amalgamated Film Distributors Ltd.
