Turntables and cartridges used in old dances in Jamaica

I'm curious as to which turntables and cartridges were used by Jamaican sounds in the 1970s and early 1980s. I've seen pictures in Beth Lessers' books of selectors in the 80s using Technics SL-1200s but it's hard to make out what cartridges they're using...

Im afriad I have no idea, but in these 2 photos of tubbys home town hi fi, you can just about make out the turntable
