Strictly hard music!

(sounds more late 70s than the '81 release date would entail)
True the matrix #JL 002 indicates that it is a 70'' LP

Yes the 7" of the title track on High Note was out as early as 1978.

It appears that the Jah Life issues #JL 003 thru 006 were all released in '79, wonder why this one was held back?

Already mentioned in the other thread how crucial this LP is for me, but just out of curiosity how much did you shell out for it bmd?

It seems fairly scarce and I only occasionally see it on eBay...

I found it on eBay for £24.99 (UK GBP) which I have to say I didn't know if it was cheap or expensive, but considering that it was vintage DEB I thought it would be about right, the price included postage...

The reason I got it is that I had found a copy of Dance A Dub the set that the Vocal Lp gave rise to, a lp which regularly sells for over £100, I found it for £10, so I used this 'saving' as an excuse to buy Effort.

From Oxfam, "Pay It All Back Vol 1" lp, along with "This Is Soul" (original Atlantic mono lp), "Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits" (the old blues stuff) and the James Brown album with "Living in America" on it (£1!)

Just picked up the vinyl reissue of this and can't stop playing it. Gorgeous bit of vinyl and gorgeous sound. :)(tu)
