I have a good friend who love reggae as much as I do and will be going to Japan in a few weeks and I wanted to send him in the right direction to get into the roots scene in Japan. I have had much help from all roots lovers and collectors and appreciate it big time!
Does anyone know where to go in Japan to get the rare/hard to find/original 70's 80's reggae? Is there any good Record shops/Record labels/Distribution companies I can tell my friend to visit?
I havent done an online search as we all have that option but I wanted to know if anyone has first hand knowledge of where to go from a collectors point of view?

Any first hand knowledge of reggae record shops/studios/distribution in Japan. I've heard so much about japan pressings and the reggae sound making its mark over there. I hope someone can lead me in the right direction. I would love to give my good good friend some great knowledge of where to go and spend money on reggae. Much love and blessings to all who love and share 60'70's80's reggae sound....

There's Super Milk in the Teramachi shopping arcade in central Kyoto: http://dp00008810.shop-pro.jp/?mode=cat ... t=n&page=2
Also the Jet Set (http://www.jetsetrecords.net/jp/location) and Disk Union (http://diskunion.net/) chains in Kyoto and Tokyo have some good selections.

DUB STORE is in Shinjuku,Tokyo.
It is behind the cemetary and there are a couple of other stores in the same area, ORANGE STREET is one.
Very small shops in side streets so easy to miss. Good Luck.
You can get a map from the site.

CLick on the map and you will get a Google map.
