Jimmy Reid - Are You Ready

Does anyone have this LP? Is it all as good as the title track?

I’ve heard ‘are you ready’ on You tube and it is an awesome song, makes me want to buy the album……. But can you find it for sale anywhere?

I’ve spent the last hour (not the first time I’ve done this) following every google link that I could find for Jimmy Reid and I can’t see this album anywhere, I can’t find it any of the UK reggae shops online, its like it never existed….

There are two versions. It originally was released on Jimpy's International in Canada, and then licensed to Londisc Records for U.K. release.

I have the Jimpy's version. It's a well-recorded LP, not one of my personal favourites, however if you like the title track, you should proceed with confidence. It's indicative of the rest of the LP.

Good to know its worth pursuing

Jimmy is still recording and has a Facebook and MySpace page. I'm going to see if I can email him and tell him to get it re-released.

His new stuff sounds quite good too from what I've heard

It would be great if it was re-released, at least he have a chance to get some money for it.

I feel like paying 100 quid for it eBay from some collector would be just as bad as stealing it, as Jimmy would get nothing for it

I have a feeling this is going to be a long hunt

what does the cover of this Lp look like does it have jimmy reid standing alone with a picture of his face on the cover?

The cover shown on the you tube video has Jimmy in a red jumper on a yellow background. I think this is the Jimpys release that davek mentions above, no idea what yhe other release looks like though.

Very heavy on the soul influence

good album but not brilliant

couple of great tracks though

happy to have it as I'm a bit of an Aquarious studio collector
