I think the article you link to is wrong, the earliest as far as i am aware is:

just heard from the author of your first link that the song i mention is on the B-side(so same record) and they have reliably tracked that record back to 1950 so the piece i mention in the above article by Chang and Chen might be wrong, possibly made in the 1940's but not pressed until 1950
