looking for a song and the artist who recorded it??????

Post by jesterjes »

I need help! The song is called 'Taxi' and the lyrics were:
"Taxi, take me to the other side of town, just as fast as you can,
taxi, before my baby puts me down, I don't wanna lose her,
Please won't you hurry, she's got me really worried, she's all i'm thinking of, all i'm thinking of,
so taxi, take me to my babys place just as fast as you can,
taxi, don't you get me there too late, I don't wanna lose her,
so put the pedal to the metal, the'se a matter I gotta settle, she's all i'm thinking of, all i'm thinking of"

I posted same q about 5 years ago and got the answer, wrote it down and put it in safe place, spent 2 months lookin for record and gave up(long before youtube and file sharing was so popular)now can't remember where the safe place is or who the artist was that recorded it ;) memory shot these days ya know!
Was a really wicked tune and haven't heard it for about 10 years!

Jay Blackfoot - Taxi. Soul tune from the early eighties. I've never heard the reggae version.

I completely agree with you...to be honest I dont like the Original...Riddim is much nicer. what a bass and the drum....it fits perfectly to the smooth voice....
