Greetings!
Just wanted to let everyone know about The Blue Riddim Band and that they have a new album out now called "Tribute"
Here is some more information on them, their discography and more.
I couldn't find any mention of their albums past or present here so I thought I would post.
I also can't figure out how to post an image of the new album so, sorry for not including it.
Give Thanks!

Blue Riddim Band Bio:
Reggae music, the cherished musical heartbeat of Jamaica, long ago took root outside its homeland. In the nearly 40 years since the rhythms of Bob Marley became synonymous with the genre, thousands of reggae bands from Asia to South America and from Europe to Australia have proliferated their own vision and sound of this 20th century musical phenomenon.
Few groups have played reggae outside Jamaica as convincingly as the Blue Riddim Band from Kansas City, and even fewer have played it convincingly for Jamaican audiences. The group coalesced as Rhythm Funkshun in South Florida in the mid-70s under the guidance of multi-instrumentalist and composer Bob Zohn and percussionist Steve "Duck" McLane. The group earned a reputation playing soul and R&B at clubs in the South and Northeast of the US. McLane's and Zohn's early passion for Jamaican music was fueled by the Jamaican community in New York in the early 70s. Reggae deejay and promoter Lester Hewin-Lowe befriended the group and they became devoted listeners to Ken Williams’ early broadcasts on WLIB.

I know a lot of people really keep them in high regard. I haven't ever heard any of their music. What album or singles do you recommend?

"Alive in Jamaica" is the album that got nominated to the grammy. Haven't heard the whole album but some of the tunes are very good.
I got introduced to them via a youtube video of them live at Reggae Sunsplash '82. Very good horns was my first impression, rockers styla!

I would recommend the Grammy nominated album, "Alive In Jamaica". This is a live recording of their performance at the 1982 Sunsplash.
I would also recommend their new album, "Tribute".
Please check out the links provided above for other information.

“America’s Original Reggae Band”
sounds appealing...
just listened to them though because of this post and they're actually pretty nasty, or at least they were in the early 80's.
