Lee van Cliffs real name was Devon Perkins, he got shot in 1987 in Brooklyn that's all i know absolutely sure. i know his name his Devon Perkins cause i got an Lp from him with his real name on the cover. he's the son of another reggae artist Lascelles Perkins, if ure interrested in Puppa Lee Van check out my youtube channel "Trikkyboy" Bless!! anyboydy knows a bit more about him please tell cause i'm his biggest fan without any doubt One Love!!

sorry to prompt this, but please, is there any trustful source for the real name of Lee Van Cleef? Devon Perkins appears alongside Lee Van Cleef in a couple of releases, ie
on a US Joe Gibbs 12", A side Tristo Palma Tell Me Where It Hurts / B side Lee Van Cliff & D. Perking Some A Chat Some A Rock It (Perking should be a mispelled P
Perkins).
So are they the same person?
I am trying to identify him.
