Brigadier Jerry- Dance In A Montreal?

Post by mn418 »

I'm looking to hunt this 12" down I see it on Ernie Bs at a pretty steep price (100 bucks). Is this the going rate? Any help would be much appreciated!

respect everytime,

If you are willing to wait you should pick it up on Ebay for less than that but Ernie B is a reliable seller and very good quality wise.

Ernie B is a good seller, but the prices of some of those 12" are... a little high haha.

I doubt, you can find the original Music Lab 12" for less than $100 on eBay. Just check the price for the Studio One or Music Lab 12". You can hardly find the best one for less than $100.

Anyway, there is also a second press on a white label from 87 with only Coxsone Music City adress stamped on it. Don't know the flip on this one. Even this one may be hard to find but the price should be far less than $100.

t depend if you need the Music Lab original or not.

BTW this tune is KILLER. Among my fav Studio One 12"

Is it Roland Alphonso on the b-side? I've got the Whitelabel 12" and it's four cuts of stalag.

A-side 1 - Briggy - Dance In A Montreal
A-side 2 - Dub
B-side 1 - Roland Alphonso?
B-side 2 - Weird dub with vocoder effect (Mittoo?)

Would love to know more about it.

on my copy - which i think (always difficult to know) is original rather than one of those italian bootlegs from a while ago - the flip side is the same but it is confusingly called "waxie maxie" and credited to brigadeer jerry - i was hoping at the time for a new briggy track!

"Waxie MAxie" is the Roland Alphonso instrumental, named after the famous New York record store.

How can you check the difference between the bootleg and the whitelabel Coxsone issue? Great songs on the disco nonetheless.
