I think i'm looking for the same song. I believe the chorus say 'weep for your man'. Recorded on cassette back in the 80s off 98.7 kiss fm. The voice sounded like a female kinda reminds me off musical youth.

I'm looking for this 80's reggae song/artist but I few lyrics. I think I remember the beginning starting like this: Ahhhh, Ahhhh, Ahhhh, Ah. Every posse now, come down, come down, come down, come down. I'm not sure, but I think it's two people singing the song. Thanks for any help you can give.

Try "Pomp and Pride" by Toots and the Maytalls...

"Everybody just cry now, cry out, calm down, calm down...."

Might be it

i think it might possibly be more like:

everybody jus' try now, try now, come down, come down
off yuh pomps and yuh pride
Acilyn, Jacquilyn,(some other girl name that rhymes that i can't remember) come down
off yuh pomps and pride

another great festival tune..

i only know a few lines from this song and its pretty much part of the chorus. its a reggae song that i heard in 2005-2008 but couldve been a song from earlier. but its a really slow reggae beat and a guy sings it. so the chorus from what i can remember goes like this!!!
I WANNA MAKE LOVE TO YOU GIRL, I WANNA KISS YOU, I WANNA LOVE YOU. then somewhere in the song it goes and i keep in mind i could be wrong with this lyric- I SAID NO PUSHIN, NO FIGHTIN...GIRL I WANT YOU TONITE....

please email me if you know the song and the artist!!!

Greetings all. I am looking for 2 different song titles and their artists please.

1st one chorus goes:
'the people just love Jah music, everywhere that I go (and I know), the people just love Jah music (yeah), I think the people ought to know'

2nd song is Roll River Jordan roll but not the Ras, Itals or Burning Spear Jordan river songs:

"Jah people don't you weep no more, Jah people don't you weep no more, cos Rasta he will take us across, so people don't you weep no more, roll River Jordan roll, oh no, roll River, roll River Jordan roll'

Any advice appreciated, many thanks.

Hi,

I'm looking for a song, it was pretty popular in the 90's. The only lyric I remember is
"and when the more you come down you don't have to whoa, whoa whoa whoa whoa" I think thats what it says. The beat was what caught my attention the most. I never knew the name of the song or the artist but I DEF love the song!!! I believe it is sung by a woman. I remember it in early to mid 90's.

if you can help i'd greatly appreciate it!

thanks!!

It's probably a tune by Barrington Levy & Sassafrass (produced by Sassafras) called "Step Up In Life".

It's a 1987 (or 1988) re-lick of the "Pomps & Pride" riddim.

Hello all. I have a riddim in my head and I cannot get it out. Nor can I find it.

Here's a few of the lyrics:

'You will be living with the devil in hell - ey! -
Who gave you the permission
To take the life of a innocent man
and who are you to be judging
sentencing and murdering'

There's another, bit of a long shot -

'For me say wicked man a where you a go run
For me say wicked man a where you a go hide
Because a jah jah a go strike wid de lightnin and tunder
X2
Jah a marshal...bo!
Because im higher than a gineral
I
Im higher than a gineral...'

This one sounds a bit like 'Hard Times'. Thanks if you can help me or no.
