According to Dave Thompson's book, Bonnie was Bonnie Frankson, who was also part of the duo Bonnie & Skitto, who recorded "Hey Mr. Chauffer" for the R&B label in 1963, but this has also been credited to Bunny and Skitter, and I believe that Bunny is Arthur "Bunny" Robinson, who was in a duo with Scully Simms in the 1950s.

Many thanks for your help Mike....
I've checked also in the reggae rough guide, but there is nothing about Dotty & bonny !
A lot of "boy-girl duos" are well know. Just some few others according to reggae rough guide (P 36 second edition):
roy (panton) & millie (small)
lascelles (perkins) & hortense (ellis)
jackie (opel) & doreen (schaefer)
...
but it's rather difficult to be sure who are dotty & bonny, particulary dotty ???

I believe it's Dorothy Reid & Bonnie Frankson.

Looks likely - I don't think this Bonnie is anything to do with 'Bonnie & Skitto' personally.6anbatte wrote:I believe it's Dorothy Reid & Bonnie Frankson.

I don't know who they are but the song "Dearest i"s one of my favorite ska era songs of all time. I say ska era because I'm not even sure if it is "ska" proper. So sweet, innocent, and smile-causing. Great Hawaiian guitar too! I know the song was (Originally?) done by Americans Mickey Baker and SIlva, and also a Buddy Holly version which was recently featured in the recent film" Juno."

@ Mike Andy: The Bunny from Bunny & Skitter is not Arthur Bunny Robinson! Scully Sims told me when I was in Kingston in 2009 that it was a totally different Bunny!
