Horse Racing commentary tracks

Post by mike andy »

Apart from Bojangles 'Selassie I Cup' and Matador & Fay's 'Sex Grand National' does anyone know of any other reggae tracks that have horse racing commentary lyrics? I've got a vague recollection of another one.

I was really looking for tracks with horse racing commentary lyrics. There are also quite a few others of course about horse racing in general.

I can remember one about horse racing where the winner called "my dickie" comes (cums ;-0) first.

It was a horse racing commentry but with a slack slant to it, can't recall the artist tho?!

any ideas

J.J., that's "My Dickie" by Derrick Morgan on Pama, 1971.

I've also heard another cut with the same lyrical theme on the Max Romeo "Maccabee Version" rhythm (probably also by Derrick Morgan). Think it's on the Trojan X-Rated box.

Jah Bless.

Dillinger's "Race Day" on the Cold Blood riddim is a great jockey tune.

"Saturday de race day at Caymanas Park..."

He expounds on the virtues of various jockeys of the day, but the legendary George Hosang comes out on top

"But the Chiney are the leader" :D
