I do have a CD with various Bim Sherman tracks which I can't connect to a specific album / CD, maybe someone else knows it
here's what I could make out
01 "Sometimes I wonder"
02 Dub
03 "Beyond the Hill / Valley"
04 Dub
05 "We need more Love in the Ghetto"
06 "Watch the whole World"
07 "Suffering Suiffering"
08 Dub
09 Some Sweet Day 12"
10 Fit to survive 12"
11 ???
12 "The Devil is here in the City"
maybe it's not even on official release but a compilation made by a mistery collector, I'm not even sure if it is Bim Sherman on all the songs
any help would be appreciated

Re: Mistery Bim Sherman Album
Probably something put together by a collector. Is it a CDR? Does it have a cover?
01 Hmmm... a bit more of the lyrics perhaps?
02 Hmmm... (again)
03 Beyond The Hill by Melting Pot feat. Bim Sherman. 1990 12" on Vinyl Solution. A different mix on Bim's album Crazy World
04 Beyond The Hill (Dub). Dub of the above. A different mix on the Got To Move Pt.2 album on Century, and on Bim's Rub-A-Dub compilation on Efa
05 Need More Love (In The Ghetto) by Groove Corporation & Bim Sherman. Various reggae and ambient/trance mixes over a couple of 12" singles on the Cake label 1992
06 Hmmm... not sure
07 The Need To Live by Bim Sherman & Singers And Players from the Steve Barker compilation album Bugs On The Wire - Skysaw Records 1987
08 If I'm right about the above track I'd be interested to hear this dub, as I've not heard of it before. A dub version was mooted for release on the Bugs On The Wire Vol.2 album, but this ended up never being issued - interesting!
09 Originally titled A Matter Of Time on the Singers & Players album Staggering Heights. Also released under Bim's name and titled Some Day on a 12" on Jah Woosh's September label in 1982, and credited as being a Jah Woosh production
10 Fit To Survive / Tribulation. Quite a few versions of this one. Could be the original JA recording issued on a UK Savannah 12" in 1979 as Tribulation, or if it's the later On-U re-recording, originally on the Singers & Players album War Of Words as Fit To Survive, this was issued in a remixed form on the other side of the Some Day 12" on the September label
11 ??? Any more details?
12 Two Thieves And A Liar from The Gary Clail album End Of The Century Party
Hope that helps? Let us know any more details you can about the mystery ones

01 I know "Sometimes I.." isn't in the lyrics, but maybe "Sit and Wonder" w/ Singers & Players....?

Re: Mistery Bim Sherman Album
well, thanks so far, I guess it is indeed a compilation put together by whoever knows - and no, the CD does not have a cover, I copied it from another sleeveless CD at a friends house
I am tempted to upload the CD to a place like rapidshare or megaupload but I'm not sure if this is against the regulations here at roots archives

What about just snippets for identification/clarification purposes?

just chop off 1 minute of each track (with audacity for example) and upload it somewere.ice wrote:well, thanks so far, I guess it is indeed a compilation put together by whoever knows - and no, the CD does not have a cover, I copied it from another sleeveless CD at a friends house

Re: Mistery Bim Sherman Album
yeah, might do that, although generating samples is more time consuming than ripping the entire CD

I could but then again, bringing a letter to the post office is even more time consuming
