Hi
I heard 'One spliff a day' by Billy Boyo and want more of that dark minimalistic sound that Junjo Lawes produced on that track.
Other Junjo produced material i heard doesn't sound anything near it. But I haven't heard much of Junjos production, and haven't listen to much dancehall.
Any suggestions?
All the best

The vocal cut is Johnny Osbourne's "Love is Universal" so you could try that for a start. I think a lot of Junjo/Radics stuff has that hard, moody sound. Check out the Scientist records from that era as well like "...evil curse of the vampire" and "..Wins the world cup"

As soon as I heard this track, the first thing that screamed out was the style of Scientist. Sure enough, it turns out Scientist has engineered most of his stuff.
I recommend his 'Curse of the Evil Vampire' album. His albums covers are pretty damn ridiculous as well.

The vocal cut to One Spliff A Day is not Johnny Osbourne's love is universal but is the B side to Anthony Johnsons Let Go This One.The sound your looking for here is not typical Junjo and Scientist as this track was mixed when Scientist was working out of channel one.
For more of this sound check these
I'm still Dancing- Michael Palmer
Me and Jane-Bingy Bunny
Rise in the strength of jah-Viceroys
Christmas a come-Eek a Mouse
Do you Remember-Eek a Mouse
The sound you're looking for is Recorded at Channel One and Mixed at Channel One backed by Roots Radics, not necessarily produced by Junjo or Mixed by Scientist and all very easy to find.

@donstrumental yes my mistake-I was thinking of Billy Boyo's "Janet Sinclair" which shares the same rhythm as "Love is universal."
