Very interesting!
But this is confusing to me: I got the same record as Jamaican pressing from 1975 on Roosevelt, titled "Ganja". Almost the same cover like the Trojan issue (ok, the Rastaman on the cover is sporting a big spliff on the Roosevelt issue), but the record has only 5 tracks. The first track "Liquidator" lasts 13.35 minutes.

Who can explane this difference? skylarker40?

But it's never the music worth that big money, but the rarity of the record. Otherwise everybody would be happy with a simple repress.
Same with first prints of books and all collectables.
Nobody would buy an horrible expensive post stamp only for the nice printed picture on it.

Yes, on this Jaywax issue are the same tracks as on Trojan with 2 tracks missing. So this is the same record.
But how about my Roosevelt issue with 5 tracks only (sadly missing in the RA)?

There are also some issues with 3 extra tracks....

@ lost shoe. It could be another altered press of this one. I don't have it at hand but I know there is a 10+ minute track on it.

Of course...it's just my scepticism about the inflated market. Also, so many of these scarce records will never be repressed.

Re: Morris on Dub. I can see why it's valued more than the Leslie Butler album, just look at the cover ;)

ok this thread got me interested so i spent a few minutes and compared all 3 records.

"Morris on Dub" and "Ja-Gan" are indeed the same LP, but with "Ja-Gan" having 12 tracks instead of 10. the two that are exclusive to "Ja-Gan" are 'ganja' and 'roosevelt dub.'

now the "Ganja" LP, which is 5 tracks, has 3 tracks which appear on the other 2 LPs, and two appear in longer versions. 'liquidator' is 'skank indigo', and 'mountain breeze' is 'seven heaven rock.' both of those appear in longer versions. 'ganja' is titled the same, and same length. the other 2 tracks seem to be exclusive to this LP.

thanks for pointing this out, skylarker.
