Return of Sound System Scratch?
Surprised no one here has commented on this yet. I haven't heard it yet. Anyone?

Re: Return of Sound System Scratch?
I bought my mp3 copy from the pressure sounds website last weekend, been listening to it quite a lot since then. (In fact have it on right now) It is vastly superior to the first sound system scratch, which I actually found a bit boring.
I would say this is fairly essential for any massive Perry fans, some great versions of tunes you know and love.
The whole thing is compiled better than the first sound system scratch, although the tracks would flow better if rearranged, but the content is so much better than the first one.

Re: Return of Sound System Scratch?
I see now there's been talk of it on blood & fire, but I hate reading that board because of the black background, and the fact that I can't seem to be allowed into the group, so I can't post there.
But thanks Congo, good to know. Of course, I was going to buy it anyway! It was easy to assume it would be worse than the first one, since I would have guessed they would put the best stuff out first. So, hearing it's better is a bit of a surprise. I actually liked the first one a lot, but agree that about half of it was a little unremarkable unless you'd never heard and Perry before.
I also may be in the minority but I loved the lo-fi non audiophile muddy tracks. Some of that sounded pre-industrial! So, if there's more of that, I'll be happy.
I guess I just couldn't believe there was yet more to be scraped from the barrel. Is there any end to it?

" Is there any end to it ? "
Lets` hope not , as it is about time these rarities were given exposure ! Should these type of tracks just be left in the hands of an elite few ? Big -up to Pressure Sounds and their collators for doing this ... not once but twice (tu)

You'll enjoy the dub of junior Byles 'long way' its a great dub made all the better by the fuzzy feel of the qualityflashman wrote:I also may be in the minority but I loved the lo-fi non audiophile muddy tracks. Some of that sounded pre-industrial! So, if there's more of that, I'll be happy.

Re: Return of Sound System Scratch?
Just got the vinyl of this tonight! Wow. I haven't even heard it all yet, but it is definitely better than Sound System Scratch!! And I was way into (some of) that.
I don't know if there is supposed to be more track info? But the vinyl doesn't have much in the way of that.
Which is the dub of Long Way? Is it Longer Dub? Because that is indeed wicked.
And what about Mr. Dubz? That's craazy! Love it. I don't know what that's a dub of either. Anyone know?
I should also add that the b-sides from the 7" they put out are wicked as well! Lama lava mix 2 is way better than the one on the album I think. And Strong Dub from the B-side of Strong Drink as well. In fact the b-sides from the earlier lp are wicked as well. It's almost like they reserved the craziest mixes for the b-sides.

Mr Dubz is a dub of Marley's Rainbow Country
