Mawamba Dub Chapter 1 / Badda Music label

Post by Rootsman »

I have recently purchased a copy of "Mawamba Dub Chapter One" on CD which is on the Badda Music label and was wondering if "World, Sound & Power Mawamba Dub Chapter 2" was also available to buy on CD.

Has anyone seen Chapter 2 on CD at all?

I also picked up on the Badda Music label the CD of Junior Delgado "Brothers" which is also excellent.

Can anyone tell me a bit more about other releases on this label?

Thanks

Dave

Which DUB CD`s have you found?

Funny enough the "Mawamba Dub" is credited as a DEB Dennis Brown production which was not the case as it was produced by D. Witter.

I`ve got House of DEB" and "DJ Tracking" both on CD but didn`t realise they were both on the Badda Music label.

I guess then that Badda Music label is affiliated to the DEB label.

not sure how they are affiliated, but the description of the remasters claims that they used "original master tapes" and were "remastered at Abbey Rd. Studios" - so sounds like they are legit. Badda has done some Dennis Brown CD's too ("Visions" & "Wolf & Leopard") but these have less tracks than the recent VP versions - but do claim to have LONG liner notes (that the VP reissues did NOT).

I used to talk with one of the guys behind the Badda Music imprint. He was a greek guy living in London who also was doing some management (I think?) for Lukie D. Very nice person talking to.

I don't think they were affiliated to DEB other than that they had licensed to release the albums from the label. They also did this with Niagara and D-Roy.

I simply love that album and been hunting for the second part dub LP ever since I heard the first one. Proper UK dub of the 70's!

Rootsman; Where is Mawamba Dub credited to DEB? I have both the original LP and reissue by Badda Music and the information on both are identical. Does it say DEB on the CD?

Hi Kalcidis

My words were a bit confusing, the website I bought it from had it advertised as a Dennis Brown production.

Infact the particular website had all the Badda Music releases credited as Dennis Brown productions.
