And thats what audioracks (no advert here)prays on people who aint near shops, but there are many sites you can get your downloads if you do your music from computees that are proper.Until the whole music downloading is regulated and theres one law for the whole world, then its just going to get worse. they should know that the illegal downloads are such poor sound second, third, fourth, hand mp3s. a lot of it is done by 20 somethings who file share and then give them to the sites for some trade.many of them do credit card fruad and money laundering and the music is just a front.

NUFF RESPECT JAVIER!Javier wrote:Greetings,
I would like to say that I&I bredrin here in Chile, South America, have organised sound systems with two portable cd players (discman) and a pair of speakers, because we have not enuff money to set up a real sound system, but nuttin can't stop I man Rasta, no dunza, so we set up a poor sound system anyway (pretty jamaican anyway, isn't?) and de people dem love it, so I&I just want to say yu don't dis computer and ting, beca music is music, if you are elitists, at least don't be disrepectful.
Music in computers have helped those who are not lucky enuff to buy or even find LP's and even CD's locally. (The only Reggae music found here is Bob Marley's, not even Jr Gong's) and have become one of the main media to spread Jah music.
keep on spreading rastafari reality! reggae comes from the ghetto and have to survive there!
the humble and the poor people made the reggae so great! and they kept it alive for decades!
you are right it's not about hifi at all!

Re: Shame on Audiomaxxx.com
A PC music set up can be really good, my son uses a PowerMac Quad as the hub of his set up and the sound is very very good. But that set up cost him load$$, probably as much as a very reasonable hi-fi set up.
MightyZ put a vinyl hi-fi set up together for something like $100. Much cheaper than a PC with speakers.
If you can only afford a PC, fair enough, that'll have to do. But if you can afford a Hi-Fi, why would you still listen to music through tin cans?
And God is in every atom, so I don't think he really minds reggae music being played in the bathroom.

Re: Shame on Audiomaxxx.com
Here we go again: Digital vs. Analog.
Some of us use computers out of shear practicality. I use to have a serious HI-FI, but since the early 2000s buying proper speakers is such a chore, unless you have the cash to fork over for DJ speakers, a PA or whatever.
Circumstances! I, for one, had to move across country (USA). I sold my Hi-Fi, even my turntables and most of my collection to move to a small tiny apartment. I got turntables again, but I can't be bothered forking over 300 USD for a proper amp and speakers.
In Jamaica, on UWI campus, Kingston, the Hi-Fi's were computer ran and booming loud. The sound may be crap to some. But really isn't it all about the music? I didn't see nobody complaining.
This is the same debate surrounding CD DJs. No DJ set, as far as I know of, in the Bay Area (my home base) is free for the "digital disease."
You use what is available to you and work with it. If you are rolling in dough or a frugal vinyl buyer enjoy your Hi-Fi! More power to you.
This is all hilarious, since I've been called a "luddite" for being opposed to creating music on computers esp. Protools. And yet, when it comes to shear enjoyment, we all have our little camps of analog and digital.
Let's face it....we enjoy em both!
