Re: Reggae George
Dear BC
I'm a big Reggae George fan. It seems he sadly died
in New York in the early nineties.
One of the biggest selections of Reggae George music
is held by Penny Reel.
He's got some incredible singles by the man.
Take care, all the very best

Re: Reggae George
One of the tunes i first heard by him was Jamaican Collie or is is Native Collie, i went and got an album with it on but it wasn't the same version as the one i'd heard on a radio station, would love to get hold of the killa cut to this tune.
The one on the album isn't as good, not as bassie as the other one, any idea what label the track might have been released on, did it come out on 12"?
I remember we've had a few threads on Reggae George over on B+F forum over the years, with discog, but i can never get the search function working over there.

Re: Reggae George
Really wished I could help. My favourite tune by him -
is the one he did for the Mighty Cloud Band. 'Natty Laugh'
I think its called.
I'll try and work out what that tune you like is. I know it.

Re: Reggae George
Very surprised that the two Reggae George tunes from the Humble Commission V.A. LP "Showcase" didn't get much mention...Two very tough tunes indeed! Probably because of it's rarity, I bet that most people have not even heard...or thy would be raving about them too!

Re: Reggae George
Mmmh... just bought blindly dis last compilation "Humble Commission" and must say Im disappointed by the Reggae George tunes on... For me it doesnt reach the ankle of a tune like Fig Root or even the Drifter or Three Wicked Men. I could have anticipated this as the mid80s Channel One sound is rarely my cup of tea but was hoping...
The Barry Brown tune "The Emperor" and Angelina Davis with "Love You" save this expensive shopping.
