Thoughts on Sean Paul

What do you think about Sean Paul?
I think he is an amazing toaster, hes got amazing style, but the music he is making is totally mainstream...

I mean it would be great to hear him toast over some old school riddims...

I absolutely loved his two first albums and some of the singles pre-dating them. Great late 90's to early 00's bashment vibe to them.

Agreed. It's kind of cliche to say, but he went downhill after crossing over . His lyrics got simplified and seem to be enunciated so non Jamaicans can hear them. The end result is he sounds less authentic than he used to. In the 90's he sounded like a good successor to Supercat.

Back in the late 90s he was my favorite newschool-artist. On the playground riddim, bookshelf, headache, bitterblood... hit after hit.

I'd rather listen to Mr. Williamz.
