curious about your listening habits
I made a small gallup among my friends about how much reggae is of their total music consumption. Answers were from zero to fifty per cent.
My percentage is somewhere near ninety, the rest being soul, funk, jazz. So, is there something totally wrong in me or do I find any reggae mates here?

100% reggae nothing else
Reggae has almost every other genre in it.

Depends on what period I'm in. Right now it's 40% reggae and perhaps 30% hiphop and the rest divided between greek music and other genres. Two years ago I was listening to perhaps 95% reggae and the rest being greek. Hiphop was the first music I learned to love in the early 90's (as a little child really) and then I stopped listening to it sometime in the early 00's and it's the last one year or so I've started to listen again to all my favourite albums from those times. '86-'89 are my favourite hiphop years. It's like meeting an old friend again.

I would say Reggae/Dub be around 80% or so
the rest well 5% hip hop 5% electro, 5% world 5% Jazz? May be 10% world... samba too good!
Percentages might be wrong but no, nothing is wrong with you
I do agree with kalcidis it can greatly vary from one period to another. Although, any period for me will be minimum 50% reggae.

Re: curious about your listening habits
In terms of buying records it's 80% reggae, in terms of listening it's 60% reggae, the rest is divided between calypso, funk & soul, hip hop and progressive-/kraut-/classic-rock.
Like you say, kalcidis: depends a lot on the period I'm in..

varies for me, and has over the years....
right now, reggae about 30%, house/techno music around 20%, classic rawk 15% (i was so sick of all rock, it used to be zero for many years.. but now i can appreciate it again) old school country music 15%, 70's-80's soul/R&B/disco 15% and the other 5% is what i'm exposed to by others.. some metal, top 40..
but over 25 years or so i've gone through phases of nearly 100% reggae/rocksteady/etc., and i have gone through phases where i stopped nearly completely.
these days i buy 99% reggae records, though.

Re: curious about your listening habits
people who say "i listen to all kinds of music" piss me off, because they invariably DON'T listen to "all kinds of music" - just whatever the shitstem record company vampires turn out.
i tell people i listen to reggae mostly, but in reality i listen to almost anything - reggae, punk rock, thrash metal, death metal, grindcore, blues from before the war, folk music including old timey southern american alan lomax collection stuff, hip-hop, calypso, jazz, classical, jungle, the list goes on.
if it's music, i'll give anything a try.

Re: curious about your listening habits
I'd say about 75-80% reggae. The rest of the time I'm usually listening to 60's garage/psychedelia, old country, 80s new wave and 70s classic rock.

Starting to feel like a real reggae nerd here. My iPod has nothing but reggae on it
In the last 15 year's I doubt the percentage has dropped below 95 percen for me

This weekend it's mostly been ancient jazz- Joe Venuti, Eddie Lang , Django Reinhardt - but usually it's 50% reggae/25% soul/25%house/techno - or something like that anyway!
