Re: Wanted On CD
Hi King g,
Iv`e been looking for this Scientist album on CD for some time. I was told it was available but have never seen it, i`ve got a feeling that it hasn`t been released.
There are also 2 Revolutionaries albums with Che Guevara on cover.
Revolutionary Sound has a white cover as is definately available on CD as I have a copy. Its a Channel One Production manufactured and distributed by Hitbound (catalogue JJ-CD-034).
Revolutionary Sound vol 2 has a red cover but I have never seen it on CD. I have also never heard it but have been told it is not that great.
However, their "Vital Dub" album is on CD, this contains the dubs to The Mighty Diamonds "Right Time" album as is a classic. Its available on Virgin (catalogue CD FL/05)
Hope this has helped.
Respect
Dave

Dave
You've got duff info, Red Cover, revolutionary sounds (well charge) IS brilliant.
One is Dub the other instrumental, see here:
http://www.roots-archives.com/forum/rea ... 7#msg-2367
Would love to have both version's WITH insert poster, anyone got either LP intact with poster for sale?
I only have the modern repress of the Vol 1, and have Vol 2 on Ballistic.
Don't listem to opinion Dave, listen to the music, they are BOTH great, classic Revo LPs.

Hi Leggo Rocker.
Thanks for the info.
As I said, i`ve been told that the Red Cover album isn`t that great, and although I do listen to peoples opinions, I still like to find out for myself.
However, I haven`t actually seen a copy to give it a listen even though I do keep an eye out for it when i`m out and about. Problem is I don`t do vinyl anymore and it probably isn`t on CD.
If you know different, let me know.

Re: Wanted On CD
If you nag me absolutely relentlessley I could digitise the LP for you. It is a chore for me that I don't relish and I only do it for others as I simply don't like to listen to MP3 unless I have no choice.
But why not 'do' vinyl?
This reggaematic sound is better when played via the lovely warm sound that vinyl produces. 70s reggae is a vinyl sound.
You can pick up a pretty good deck quite cheaply on ebay, but beware, vinyl can soon become an obsession - and a very expensive one at that!
I have Sugar Minott playing right now, on vinyl. The bass is thick and full of flavour in a way that seems unique to vinyl. Lovely!

Re: Wanted On CD
Hi Leggo,
I had many hundred jazz and reggae albums, 12"s and 7" that I collected from the late 70`s through to early 90`s and yes I agree that you cannot beat that warm analogue full sound that you get with vinyl and the feel of holding those sleeves in your hands.
However, I got married in the early 90`s, bought a house and started a family. Finances became an issue and other responsibilities and interests took over. Also space or lack of became a major issue.
I made a decision at that time to sell on my entire collection as it was rarely played. Its only in the last few years now the kids are getting older that i`ve really had the time to start listening again and made a decision to only buy on CD.
Selling my collection was probably one of the biggest mistakes i`ve made and i`ve come to regret it, specially when you know that much of what I had will never turn up on vinyl again and may never see the light of day on CD.
I know vinyl can become an obsession and you end up spending money you haven`t got. I`ve been there and I can`t afford to go back.
So from now on its CD`s and a marriage rather than vinyl and a divorce.

Re: Wanted On CD
Hi Leggo,
By the way, thanks for the offer but I can save you the chore.
I don`t own an mps player, never really thought of buying one as I have a CD player in the car.
Thanks anyway

Hi Dave
I can back up leggo rocker regarding Vol 2 as I bought it when it came out (and I do remember the poster now that it's been mentioned). Absolute scorcher of an album.
