SCIENTIST MEETS TED SIROTA'S Heavy weight dub

Post by sonic »

I bought this cd. It's hardly dub and certainly not heavy weight.

Did anyone else hear it?

I did buy it, and it sounded like dub on listening to it first - but maybe I should listen to it again. I remember there were some interesting drum parts by Ted Sirota, who is an expert Drummer.

It's more instrumental and vocal album. You hardly hear the bass.

Not sure how you can say "it's hardly dub"? Scientist recorded and mixed the record, and it's some of his best work in years. 5 out of 14 tracks have vocals on them, so how can it be "more of a vocal album"? And just because there are vocals doesn't mean it's not dub. You don't hear real musicians playing like this too much anymore. It sounds HEAVYWEIGHT to me! Great original compositions as well. It's making a lot of Best of 2013 lists and it's on mine as well. I agree with rasralo - maybe there's something wrong with the bass on your system. Either 1) get a subwoofer or 2) turn it up!
