I see that this has been re-issued recently with the "original" vocals. Being mightily disappointed with the Joe Gibbs repress that I bought a few years ago, that I assume is the re-recorded version and not the one that I heard for the first time on a cassette years before, can anyone confirm that this is indeed the real deal?
Thanks!

Great, thanks Satta!
Does anybody know the reason for the re-recorded vocal? I haven't got the dodgy version with me at the moment, but I think that the rhythm track was the same, it was just the vocals that were off. Did Joe Gibbs lose the tape of the original and, if so, presumably this reissue is sourced from the original vinyl?

I think that he re-recorded it for his Nutin Na Gwan album...alastair wrote:

Anyone know if the version on Scorchers from the Mighty Two http://www.roots-archives.com/release/5283 is the orig or a re-cut?

Re: Sylford Walker-Jah Golden Pen
Sylford's singing is more on key on the original release, but I gotta admit that I like the backing vocals and the rough edge on the more recent version.
Most disappointing thing on that one is the sound quality and the version, which is way better on the original.
