Has anybody infos about the life and identity of mr RISING SON? I read somewhere he was an ethiopian orthodox curch affiliate, but dont know more...

Do you know if he' still living?
Woud be great to bring him back to music, he's one of the most regular and selective 70's roots singer. All of them pure killers...

I don't know "African Man", the alternate of "freeman" that I know is called "Peace Man" on the Ta-Shi label, which have also a DJ cut by Jah Suckie (Peace in a Jamdung).

Yes true bredren, I confonded "African man" and "peace man".. that's the one I thought... and heard that Dj, yeah... good...and ya true again for the Natty Dread... they just told me that they speak of him in the Al Campbell & New Flower release... but that I havent. Will order. Merci beaucoup!!

well am almost certain that this "Rising sUn" is another man, I heard the Negus Roots one, long ago, and nothin to deal with the Rising Son I know... Not the voice, not the stylee...

and other songs of this "rising sun" are different too, check this mix of Rising Son that is not mine, the second is "Rising Sun" and doesnt stick with the rest...
