Anyone who like the works of Gideon Jah Rubbaal, the 70's roots singer? Tunes like Love Rasta, Free Us Now I Say, Natty Dreadlocks A Superstar, and so on

a very underated and accomplished roots artist, in a lovers as well as roots too, but his output of stuff he recorded wasn't too much to compile. most people not knowing about him would pass his records over.

Rubbaal never did any albums, but he cut a dozen great singles, 7" and 12", back in the late 70s. He is up there with Kiddus I or maybe Judah Eskender Tafari as far as true cult status goes

Gideon should come out from obscurity and rerelease some his gems on good old vinyl, its about time...

I've only heard the one single from him called Look Rasta. It was on Greensleeves and was catalogued as their 1st release as a 7". Spoke to one of the Chris's at Greensleeves, as they never mention it on the website discography, and he told me, you know how the music business goes!

Yes Roy, its Love Rasta, not Look..', but I am aware of that release too on Greensleeves - it also came out on his own label and Randy's sub label Love, I guess that's where all the interest in him built up from the UK release

just a short story of his music... not a clue of what he is doing nowadays.
