I saw that EB and some other retailers are selling a reissue or a recent pressing of Ini Kamoze first album, the six track mini-lp. I did a search but couldn't find any info on this.
Can anyone confirm the quality of this particular pressing?
I bought the album as a paid FLAC download from Boomkat so I could listen to it in my car but thought it might be nice to have on vinyl as well. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ini Kamoze - 1st album/self-titled - reissue quality?

you'd be better off with an original press. Island made darn good vinyl back in the day.

Okay, maybe I'll just hold off until I can get an old copy. I have some old Island LPs, including Statement, which sounds great.
How do folks feel about the Pirate LP? I kinda regret passing up that one but I had no idea if it was good or not. Same thing with Shocking Out.

I bought the reissue on EB and it is very clean and good sound. And on Taxi label. If you like the album I don't think you'll regret getting the reissue vinyl. As for me, I just don't really like the album much. The riddims are nice; I guess I just don't like Ini Kamoze's style all that much.

The original Island issue is an excellently mastered and pressed record, I used it for Hi-Fi demos more than once during the 1980s, a great record and also one you can still find in excellent condition for reasonable money, at least in the UK.

It's a lot harder to find used reggae where I'm at. I can probably count on two hands (maybe not even) the number of used reggae LPs I've purchased while digging through the bins. I don't like to buy used records online because I'm picky about condition and overgrading is rampant on discogs and eBay. Ratings don't mean that much anymore either since it's easy to get bad feedback removed.

I also got the reissue from EB. Have no complaints about the quality, it's super. Can't compare it to the original as I never heard it.

Pirates is very nice. More produced than the first one and Statement which was already less raw than the EPcvac wrote:Okay, maybe I'll just hold off until I can get an old copy. I have some old Island LPs, including Statement, which sounds great.

Shocking out is computer style reggae produced Steelie & Clevie. Totally different and not my cup of tea.
