I'm looking forward to hearing it, the last Bunny Lee one they released did nothing for me, but this looks to be more of a roots affair, and looks very interesting with the alternative mixes.

Will be interesting to hear just how alternative they are.

Live It To Know it, Consider Yourself, Deeper Roots 2 and Roaring Lion have all been amazing releases, I'm hoping this one will keep up the standard.

A little concerned though as I'm not the biggest fan of flying cymbals, especially when they get a super dose of volume and EQ tweaking in a dub mix. just my personal taste. Not sure from looking at the track list that I would know off the top of my head if these were flying cymbal laden tracks... Itching to hear the sound clips

Wow this does sound good, thanks for the link. The versions of Death Trap and Blood Dunza have sold it for me.

The dub to Satta Dread sounds identical to the cut on 'Every Mouth Must Be Fed' (Conference Version) credited to King Tubby.

Got my copy from PS this morning. I have had it on constant rotation in my van whilst spending the day sitting in the London traffic.

A great selection of tracks making it an overall excellent release. I especially like the 2 Vin Gordon instrumentals from the "New Sensation" album (never heard of that album before but googled it and found it to be a 4 LP set from 1970).

Some great dubs on the CD too, especially "Its a Disgrace Dub" definitely well worth the money :)

Rootsman,

Please could you look on the sleeve notes for me and see if it says who the DJ is on Crucial Dub. Sounds a bit like U Brown to me but I'm not sure.

Cheers

Hi Rob

It doesn't actually say who the DJ is on that track but it is the same "Crucial Dub" that appears on the "King Tubby Upsets the Upsetter" LP if that helps at all.

For me it does sound like U Brown but i`m not 100% sure.

Regards

There was a thread here about this a few years ago: I asked U-Brown this question in 2009 and he said that the intro was done by a youth hanging around the studio, he couldn't recall his name.
