Dub LP Archives MIA

Post by april81972 »

So I've managed to find digital copies of just about everything on this list in fairly decent quality. Yes, they are all mp3's (shudder), but it's better than not having them at all. I'm turning to the experts here to see if you can add any insight to the following LPs that are still MIA. I've put my own comments next to each release.

For those who don't know what I'm referring to, check here:

Thanks so much for any help. Cheers.

CULTURE DUB - Culture - HIGH NOTE (tunes exist on other comps?)
DUB OFF HAR BLOUSE & SKIRT VOLUME 3 - RUB-A-DUB (Revolutionaries)
EDI FITZROY MEETS ROOTS RADICS AT CHANNEL ONE - MUSICAL AMBASSADOR (never seen it?)
GOLDMINE DUB - Jah Lloyd - TEEM WORK (any different than the Greensleeves LP?)
JAH LIFE IN DUB - GERMAIN (reissue 2015?)
SATISFACTION IN DUB STRICKLY YARD MUSIC - FLAMES
SCRATCH THE SUPER APE - The Upsetter - UPSETTER (same as Super Ape?)
THE JOINT - Keith Hudson - THE JOINT (same as Brand?)

What info do you want?

I've got Jah Life in Dub on Germain (different from the 2014 DKR release which is the real Jah Life and clearly the better set). Added all info here on the record here:

The Culture Dub I have on Sky Note which is from what I know identical to the High Note (besides the sleeve and label of course). I also have Satisfaction in Dub on Flames (which has been released on Live & Love as well).

I recently saw Satisfaction In Dub on Ebay w/ sound sample which sounded great.

The Edi Fitzroy Dub is at a guess the same album as ''Gussie P Meets Roots Radics" which is the dub to Edi's 'First Class Citizen' LP iirc.
Maybe remixed ??
GP Meets RR is/was available on CD on the Musical Ambassador label.

Heartbeat put out a CD called Culture in Dub that contains all the dubs from Culture Dub, plus a bunch more. Not sure if that helps at all, but there it is anyway.

Thanks for this. Donovan Germain looks interesting.

The info I'm looking for are the '?'s' in my comments.

"The Joint" is the same as "Brand", with different track order.

"Scratch The Super Ape" is the same as "Super Ape" - except with a different track order, and Patience Dub is about 40 seconds longer.

The Edi Fitzroy Dub LP is dubs of the first Edi LP. Not the same mixes as either the Gussie P or Check For You Once Dubwise but same rhythms.
