Hi,
I have noticed that the Blood and Fire re-issue of the above album has been released minus the track "Economic Crisis" which is present on the original album.
This is one of my favorite tracks on this album and cannot understand why it has been left off.
However, the re-issue has 3 cuts of "Pick up the beam" which is nowhere near as good as the "Economic Crisis" track that has been omitted from the re-issue. It does ot make sense to me.
Anyway, that aside, as I have the original album, is the re-issue worth buying for the extra tracks alone.
Thanks
Dave

I have all the tracks on lp/7"/12".
except the dubplate mix.
All killer tunes and the 12" tracks for the price
off album/cd is the best you can get.

What I'd like to know is, whether the Jah Vengeance cut is truly a stepper like promised in the liner notes on the BAF site: '"Jah Vengeance" revisits Yabby's earlier classic, utilising a steppers remake of the classic song of retribution.'
Yeah, I know, it says it's a stepper. BUT they had a supposedly steppers recut of the Jah Vengeance rhythm on their "Dub It To The Top" Yabby You set, too. They had the rhythm alright, but it surely wasn't a stepper. Which made me really disappointed, for I've always wanted to hear a steppers cut of thais rolling, thunderous, powerful rhythm.
I have a very good sounding JA CD of this album, but I will buy the reissue for the steppers cut alone, IF it truly is a stepper.
Some of you must have this re-release already, please lighten me!
And for those who are wondering, steppers means a certain drum pattern, in which the foot drum kicks on every 4 measures of every bar. Ie. THUM-THUM-THUM-THUM. Yunno

Hi Youthman Deh
I have just bought the re-release, will listen to it tonight and will let you know tomorrow. That's if no one can enlighten you today, of course.

Youthman Deh, there is a stepper version of Jah Vengence riddim.
I got a copy of Wayne Wade "Jah Vengence" on Jamaican Prophet Records 12" (as a blank pre-release) and it was only available as a pre release to my knowledge. The B side is a tuff dub and I have to say that this side is the best one even if the wayne wade cut is far from a weack tune. Wicked piece of wax for sure.
I will check the dub set you mention later to compare both cut... I can't right know cause I don't have CD player right now.

Hi Youthman Deh
Sorry to disappoint you, but it isn't what you would call steppers. Superb track, mind you.

That's no disappointment really - saves me the money for another release. It's not exactly the smartest thing to pay full price for an album you already have, just for one bonus track in particular. Of course, in this case there would also be the dub version of the title track, which is tempting indeed...
...but perhaps not enough, as the Jah Vengeance cut turns out not being a steppers after all.
Blood & Fire, fix the liner notes or at least the PDF on your site, stop misleading and giving false hope to people like myself
Or at least please update your dictionary when it comes to the word "steppers" or at least include your own definition as it clearly differs quite a bit from the traditional one...
