There's a Coco Tea 'remake' --- if you wanna call it that, and if you're into that --- it's called 'Grow Your Locks' on his 'One Up' lp.

"Let Locks Grow" - Barrington Spence - http://www.reggaeid.co.uk/artists.php?a ... 00b075f647
And on the back of that - "House Of Dread Locks" - Big Youth

Curly or Curley??
Coxsone put out Brentford Road "Locks" versions back in 1974:
**"Beautiful Locks" ~ The Gladiators (7" Studio 1)**
**"Beautiful" (Ver.) ~ Albert & Gladiators (7" Studio 1)**
**"Soul Locks" ~ St. CT & Gladiators (7" Coxsone)**
Mr Dodd loved the Upsetter produced Junior Byles so much he revived it on 7" Upsetter through his JAMRIC publishing in the early 90's. The B side "Curley Version" was credited to Upsetter Band.

Hey I don't care how it's spelt as long as the riddim is the same. I recently missed out on one title Golden Lacks (i think) on ebay which I guessed to be the same riddim.

Hi guys
I think after the original Curly Locks by the great Junior Byles there was the "Let Locks Grow" by Barrington Spence.
Then came Jacob "killer" Miller's version of Curly Locks and then i heard another on by Freddie Mcgregor.
I may also add that there are a few artist that made songs with that same title but the riddim and lyrics totally different. ie: Johnny Osbourne, Sinnead O'connor

GOLDEN LOCKS would be the BIM SHERMAN song
(different riddim and one of my fav toons)
I have a recording that has 2 "dub" versions of CURLY LOCKS by JACKIE MITTOO
I prefer the Lee Perry sung version of Curly Locks to most others
CHECK http://www.reggaeid.co.uk for a dozen more
