Does anyone know the whereabouts and health of the great man............ one of the true sufferers of the Kingston ghetto ?

He appeared at REBEL SALUTE 11th anniversary concert in JA after a 25 year absence.

He took 5 full minutes to gather himself while the band played on, then he started very slowly with CURLY LOCKS,but it was an amazing performance that had me in tears by the end.

I saw Junior Byles at the 1998 Sierra Nevada World Music Festival. He was great. After his set, he just wandered around the crowd for a long time. It was cool.

Respect due to Jr Byles of course but I've seen a video of his performance at the Rebel Salute and it was really pitiful...

I think junior byle's rasta no pickpocket album from 1986 is one of the greatest and most underated roots albums of all time

Like 3 years ago someone in JA voiced him for me. The person said he couldn't remember his tunes. The dubs had to be spliced together from different takes. But the result was great sound like hey were 1 take.
